Wighthill Hotel

The Wighthill Hotel is a small family operated business. We look forward to welcoming guests from July 4th. We have carried out a risk assessment and developed protocols that exceed the government requirements for cleaning and safety with specific concern over Covid-19.

Our cleaning, sanitising and operating protocols are under constant review to maintain maximum safety and effectiveness. Our risk assessment and documentation of procedures are available on request. Below, we provide only an overview of the processes. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

As a family business, we operate the business ourselves and without the need for staff from a different household. Any deliveries or visitors are accepted away from the guest areas in line with the best social distancing practices. All staff have been trained to ensure every precaution is taken to minimise the spread of Covid-19.

The hotel consists of 8 rooms in the main building. You can choose any of the rooms for your stay. There are also two self-catering bungalows in the grounds (booked separately). They are one double bed, and a double bed and separate children's bedroom with bunk beds. Please ask for details.

Please call to discuss all bookings. Payment is in full at the time of booking or as arranged. In the event that you need to cancel your booking, we will transfer your booking to a later date. Please ensure that all guests read the information on this site regarding facilities and Covid-19 Protocols that are operated by this hotel.

• 1. Please ensure that no guests concerned that they have symptoms of Covid-19 do not enter the hotel. We can provide temperature checks on arrival or at any time during your stay if requested.
• 2. On arrival, please use the hand sanitising station at reception. These are available around the hotel, and guests are encouraged to use them.
• 3. The reception is at the entrance, and a staff member will be available to assist. Staff will keep a 2-metre social distance and will wear PPE and gloves when in guest areas. Room keys can be collected at reception, together with a single-use welcome pack (re-printed for every new guest).
• 4. Check-in is available between 3 pm – 10 pm
  Check-out between 7 am – 10 am
• 5. Payments will be made by debit/credit cards or as pre-arranged

The safety and wellbeing of our guests have always been incredibly important to us, and everyone in our hotel should rightly expect a safe, clean and protected environment. The coronavirus crisis has brought this into sharp focus, which is why we have launched a new rigorous, daily cleaning regime. Our promise seeks to give you extra peace of mind so you can book and stay with confidence.

All rooms are cleaned and surfaces treated as per our Covid-19 Protocols and then each room and all hotel areas are treated with a Fogging Disinfection System which has been proven to be ten times more effective than wet spray and wipe. The fogging system is effective according to BS EN 14476 against enveloped viruses, killing 99.9% of all germs.

Staff wear masks and gloves, with guest contact kept to a minimum. The reception area is fitted with Perspex screens. Auto-dispense hand sanitisers are available in public areas. Room keys and a welcome pack are placed in your room.

We are a small family-run hotel, and we maintain the highest standards in cleanliness and hygiene. Guests can choose not to have housekeeping or can arrange housekeeping at a set time. Please enquire at the time of booking or on arrival.

Linen is laundered at over 60 degrees, with disinfectant detergent so you can enjoy a safe and great night's sleep. We've also removed all extra pillows.
